British era architecture in Agra Tour Package

An Appointment with Raj (British era) in Agra.

When you take a train for the Agra tour package from Delhi you will alight at the Agra Cant railway station, the word Cant denotes "Cantonment" and over here very near to the station we have one of the largest cantonment areas of the Indian army. The station building itself is a British styled old building.

On the mall road, you will be able to see some very old British styled bungalows which even today are wonderful, with large lawns and their unique architecture they sure give the spectators a feel of their grand past. These bungalows once were the abode of the officers of the British army stationed here, some of them are still used by the Indian army.

On your Taj Mahal Tour From Delhi, you can have a feel of the bygone era as we can arrange your visit to one of that erstwhile British bungalow, this bungalow is now being used by the family of a veteran Indian army officer and we can arrange high tea over here for you.

The family will play the proud host and will introduce you to their pride possession and you will have the history come alive. If you are interested in spending more time over here you are invited to the dinner and you will be a part and parcel of the preparations for the same, you will be invited to accompany the person going to the bazaar(market) to buy fresh vegetables for the dinner, you will then be a part of the dinner preparation and finally will enjoy the dinner sitting on a large vintage era dining table.

We will also take you for a walk in North India Tour Packages around the area where you will also appreciate the other similar bungalows in the vicinity, the peacocks are aplenty over here. Your guide will also tell you some very interesting stories about these bungalows. Some bungalows over here are known to be haunted and very famous stories about them can be heard, one of them is a British officer who was killed in the mutiny of 1857 the local people say that they used to see the officer still roaming around.

One of these bungalows has the office of the Indian Post. You can also see a Roman Catholic church called St Mary's Church over here. All these churches and other historical edifices can be seen in Agra during your Golden triangle tour.
